About us
We believe in ‘Technology for Good’ – in improving lives through education and research. Our passionate team of people want to make a social impact and challenge conventional thinking as they work on cutting-edge, emerging technologies and solutions – the kind you won’t find anywhere else.
A place of openness and inclusivity, here we don’t just execute – we have the creative freedom and support to ideate, build and see our impact on an entire collective. No pigeonholes or boxes, we believe great ideas come from everywhere and we’re all driven to live up to our leading reputation.
Not only do we have the opportunity to work at the highest level, but on meaningful projects too. That’s why we look for brave risk-takers – those who are always thinking one step ahead to power our organisation forward, and realise our digital vision.
Here, world-class is our ambition and maximising our social impact means everything – because when we prosper, everyone prospers. So if you’re ready to own it and run with it, to learn fast and get it done, to take pride in what you do and never stand still, then this is the place.
About you
We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box. But we realise the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist. For this role in particular we believe that valuable skills and experience can come from a wide range of backgrounds. If you feel this could be the role for you, are excited about working for us and can do most of what we are looking for, go ahead and apply. You could be exactly what we need!
We’re looking for someone who:
• Is a visionary for providing value to users and the business.
• Is able to to effectively define, prioritise and manage the development of product features.
• Has a creative and collaborative approach.
• Experience of agile software development practices would be beneficial but is not essential.
About the role
The Senior Product Owner is a leadership role within the Digital Vision team, leveraging a development team to drive the advancement of our digital channel and provide our members and customers with exceptional digital experiences.
You will take ownership of the products that constitute the Jisc web estate including jisc.ac.uk; creating, maintaining, and communicating clear vision for each product whilst ensuring alignment between stakeholder needs, customer requirements and Jisc’s strategy.
You can expect to liaise with employees at all levels of the organisation as well as third party suppliers to ensure new features are prioritised and developed to best meet their needs.
You will advance new product ideas, create business cases and rapidly test and pivot developments within our ‘fail fast’ culture of innovation.
