Salary: circa £37,000 per annum when working full time (35 hours)

We’re ideally looking for someone with:
Extensive technical experience of Network engineering within either a network delivery or network operations centre
A good working knowledge of ITIL principles
Strong technical management, operation and maintenance of networks to ensure a robust and operationally stable network infrastructure
A good level of communication, able to handle pressure within an operational environment
The Janet network division is aligned to the; Design – Build – Operate model for service delivery and support. The network engineer role has responsibility for the delivery, availability, integrity, and management of all network services that are offered via the Janet network. The Janet NOC is recognised as a centre of excellence for operational and delivery networking, all Janet network engineers are expected to promote this role and to perform their duties in a way that maintains the high profile achieved by Jisc, at all levels The Janet network service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to formal duties, it is expected that within reason, that engineering staff will be available at any time to assist with major problems, network emergencies, and build activities.
