The team:
This fantastic opportunity sits within our Data Collection & Statistics directorate, where you will be managing a cross functional team that continues to develop Graduate Outcomes and grow future opportunities. The established Graduate Outcomes Survey is a national survey of all graduate activities 15 months after they have left higher education. The data collected by the survey is used by all members of the Higher Education sector. You will also work with colleagues across Jisc’s in looking for opportunities for further survey opportunities.
About the role:
• To lead the development and ongoing management of the Graduate Outcomes survey.
• To head up the team required to effectively deliver Graduate Outcomes Survey.
• To be the main contact for the management of critical third-party suppliers and the periodic procurement process for suppliers.
• To work with the team to establish and operate appropriate performance monitoring structures for the Graduate Outcomes Survey.
• To investigate and work to grow Jisc’s survey capability in this space through new opportunities, engagement, and business development.
• Identify and implement initiatives to drive survey data quality improvements such as enhanced response rates. To use evidence-based and research-led processes to further development and improve the survey instruments.
• Advise colleagues on matters relating to performance monitoring and data quality assurance.
• Use judgement and expertise to help remove barriers to delivery and/or provide clarity and options around prevailing issues, ensuring corrective action is taken. Undertake risk assessments and work to ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place.
• Develop effective strategies with the communications team to enhance our engagement with graduates and encourage them to participate in this vital research.
• Advocating best practice in social science data collection methodologies in delivery of Graduate Outcomes.
• This role requires management of a complex set of stakeholder interactions.
• Any other reasonable duties to support effective team working across Jisc.

• An understanding of research methods and experience in executing these in delivery of surveys and research and insights initiatives.

• Experience of leading a multidisciplinary team and growing internal capabilities within a business.
• Experience of direct service planning, managing and monitoring of resources and a proven ability to set and deliver objectives in accordance with agreed priorities.
• Experience of supporting improvements in practice and service delivery
• Contract and contractor management experience
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Undertake a methodical approach to work, especially when working under pressure
• Apply a clear and logical approach to problem solving
• Work accurately and pay scrupulous attention to detail
• Be self-motivated and pro-active
