Senior Media and Communications officer
Salary: circa £30,000 per annum working full time (35 hours)

Using your strong writing, editorial and PR skills you will help enhance the influence and reach of our technology-focused thought leadership. And with a nose for a good story and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the business, you will craft and place newsworthy pitches across the spectrum of UK mainstream and sector media.
About you

We’re ideally looking for someone with:
• Strong experience in a similar communications role or relevant journalist role.
• Experience of working to deadline with a variety of publications and outlets.
• Examples of developing successful PR plans and securing media coverage.
• Good contacts with media (ideally at local, national and international level).
• Experience within a tech/engineering and/or higher education environment would be beneficial.
The role
Our media team works to raise Jisc's profile with our target audiences through print, broadcast and online media, and through Jisc’s corporate website.?
The team helps to shape the news agenda on issues important to members, by placing key messages and thought leadership content in mainstream and sector-specific newspapers, magazines, websites, programmes and podcasts.
They do this by writing blogs, drafting press releases, preparing pitches and positioning Jisc colleagues as experts in the media.
